Flutter ships first 1000 units, satisfying 1/3 of Kickstarter rewards.

Last week as we prepared for Maker Faire, our manufacturer was busy sending off the first 1000 units to backers, satisfying about 1/3 of our Kickstarter pledges. These shipments contained the first two boards to go in to production - the Flutter Basic and the Flutter Breakout.

Boards drop ship from our manufacturer, Seeed Studio, located in Shenzhen China, so they should arrive in the next couple of weeks. Shipping from Shenzhen gives us global shipping capability with low prices.

Getting to this point is a major milestone for us and a lot of work has gone into making this happen. We are SO excited for all of our hard work to finally make it in to customer's hands, and we can't wait to see what people will be doing with it.

For backers that pledged at levels that include Pro and/or other shields, will they get the various boards as they are available or will their shipments be held up until all components are available?

[taylor]

I think the plan for the next shipment is to get at least two boards to every remaining backer who hasn't gotten something, and then deliver anything later in a separate shipment. But we should have some shields in the next shipment too. I just really want to make sure top tier (and all) backers get something soon.

Something to look forward to I guess. Another question, has the "RC Shield" now become the "Explorer"? OK, see that was answered in another post, and the answer is yes!

Also, any guesstimates on when the next round of boards might ship?

Well, cool. I got mine in the mail today... so that's one major milestone reached. Congrats.

So we are a month since the last shipment. Any news on the next shipment? If we ordered two Basic and two Pro do you know what we will be getting in the next shipment?

We're working on the final details for the next shipment right now. Expect an update towards the end of next week about it.

Production for everyone's orders will start this week. Expect 4-6 week lead time for most manufacturing, but it may take a little longer to get all the orders kitted and shipped.

Is this still the status? Have you guys finished the rest of the kickstart pledges? I can't wait to get my kit, but I'm behind all the pledges. Any chance you guys could give an update? A month has passed since this post.

We are six weeks on. Is there any news that production is complete and these are being kitted and are about to ship?

I ordered some devices last Tuesday, but something went wrong in the payment process (they charged my credit card €87 rather than $87. Despite multiple emails to you guys, I haven't heard anything back, which makes me rather worried, and makes me want to ask, if you guys are still in business or not? -If yes, please do us all the favour and reply to the questions from your costumers.

Just read your update on the kickstarter. Hang in there bud, you are dong a fantastic job. Especially given the scope of this project and the hurdles you have overcome in bringing this project to life. I will be ordering two flutter pros in October to compliment my previous order of flutter basic.

I agree with Banjo13. Taylor, If you have some modicum of margin built into the price of your product you'll be back on top soon. If the product lives up to the marketing, I'm going to be buying quite a few more myself. I have only shelled out for the "quickstart kit", but if it works, I'll be buying at least 10 more for personal use and we'll probably start using it at the place where I work as well.
