Using KiCAD (aka F/OSS CAD)

Hi there!

I'm wondering if it would be possible for someone who has Eagle to run a script to convert the Eagle files distributed by taylor to KiCAD format.

Eagle isn't free, either as in speech or beer, and KiCAD is a very good alternative.

I've also opened a an issue on Github about this, in the more general case.

Actually there is a free personal version that has almost all of the functionality if you didn't want to wait for someone

Unfortunately, it can't open the Flutter board layouts because they use too many signal layers. The free version is limited to 2, and Flutter uses 4.

Did you even try?
as jet_flyer said there is a freeversion of Eagle.
now before you start telling your lies again, yes It can open files with 4 layers, and you can make changes in them and save them, what you can't do it edit the 2 inner layers.
I just tried it and works fine.
the last time I downloaded KiCAD, it had no functional component libraries, now that was a couple of years ago, has it gotten better ?
