I am exploring alternatives to bluetooth voice communicators. In its simplest form, any units transmitting the same identifier would automatically join a full duplex conversation (like a telephone) with anyone else using the same identifier.
I note from the most recent post that the current data rates are listed as approx 20kbps @ 600m. This is marginal for voice so i need to ask more questions
Is that 20kbps total or in each direction?
I am hoping also that there is no pairing. Ie the unit can simply transmit a data packet and be done with it. Simultaneously the unit can sit there and listen for any data packets and then look at it to see if the header contains the desired identifier before processing the contents.
If anyone cares to chip in any advice - that would certainly help me.
eg - "you're an idiot - this is simply not the device to do this"
or - "yup, perfectly doable, here is a link to some code you may find useful"
