What are your favorite sensors you'd like to use with Flutter?

Flutter is a great platform for wireless sensor networks, and we're working on making it easy to find the sensors you need for your project.

We're looking at a handful of sensors we'll be including in our sensor kit (and perhaps individually?), but there's a lot of things in the world to measure. What kind of sensor do you want to use with Flutter?

A few we have already:

Humidity + Temperature (DHT11 and DHT22 types, for example)
Temperature (TMP36)
Motion (PIR)
Light
Tilit/Motion (Accelerometer/gyro such as MPU-6050)
Liquid PH

This is a great starting list, I love it. Where sensors are concerned I think it's a case of "I want it all". I've been playing with one from sparkfun (MLX90614) that's useful in many applications. It's an infrared thermometer.

Same as @HiTechFarmer here, mainly interested in weather/environment sensors. I guess anything that works with I2C/TWI should be easy to implement : HTU21 (Humidity / Temperature), MCP9808 (Accurate Temperature), TSL2561 (IR / Luminosity), MPL3115A2 (Atmospheric pressure / Altimeter), SI1145 (UV index), AS3935 (Lightning) are sensors I have gathered for flutter projects.
Does 1-Wire interface work ? Dallas DS18B20 temperature sensors are great too.
Serial GPS via NMEA decoding library (Tiny GPS).

I am looking at measuring soil moisture, soil PH, and soil nitrogen content. I wonder if the liquid PH sensor might do the job for soil PH. Anyway, I am very excited with the Flutter concept, and look forward to using it in my design once the device passes FCC testing

I'm planning on setting up a couple monitoring stations along a stream to measure the impact of rain water runoff from the local univsersity on ph and dissolved oxygen.

I've got a PH sensor from amazon I'm planning on testing. I've been working on trying to grow hydroponic lettuce, and I want to put together a hydroponic sensor suite for it. Humidity, temperature, PH, perhaps EC and possibly CO2 or O2 if those can be done reasonably easily. I suppose EC is probably a simple circuit, despite the pricey meters. A high end A to D converter that can be plugged in over SPI or I2C might make a nice sensor add on for Flutter. I don't know if that will be useful for EC or gas sensing, but we used a 24 bit millivolt range A2D in torque and load sensing in my last job, and I have seen similar hardware used in many different circuits. Any time you need to measure small changes in resistance they can be useful.

Nice! I'm really interested in conservation efforts, and how wireless sensor networks can improve the research. I've been wondering if Flutter could be useful in oceanography for tracking dissolved oxygen and acidity. Seems like we'll have to come up with a sensor kit for various kinds of aquatic measurement.

only thing about that is range and how they could report the data back. But of course being an aviation enthusiast I just thought how a UAV could fly over head and collect data from floating (solar powered?) sensors. could do it with a boat too probably

I plan on monitoring an ultrasonic sensor to measure the tide level. The water is too far from my house to use normal wireless.

I'm looking to do something like the Arducorder (http://www.tricorderproject.org/), but mount the sensors on a drone, and send the data data back to the display with the pilot.

I would like to use it for measure tank level with an ultrasonic sensor. But the sensor must be damp-proof.
And I would like to use one-wire temperature sensors.

This is used for a pump and heating control.

With my first project I'll be looking to add GPS, Accelerometer, OBDII Adapter, and maybe a few additional analog and/or digital inputs.

Not really a sensor, but I've been approached about doing a project that would require a decent ADC / DAC combo to distribute an analog signal (or pair of signals actually) over a fair distance. Think industrial SONOS as an example. 16bit would be good enough, and there would be one "sender" with multiple "receivers". Looks like the flutter would handle the part of getting the signal distributed, but would welcome any suggestions on a ADC / DAC setup. Seen a few, but nothing that seemed to jump out at me.

If you just want an "it's full" sensor you could also use a capacitance sensor.
