What's Flutter's in-building performance?

It can theoretically transmit long, open distances, but what about in a building? I assume walls and floors would diminish the distance the signal can travel, but is it still more capable than Wi-Fi equipment, in terms of distance?

The building in question is a relatively large five-story residential building, and I need to transmit simple sensor readings from the top for to the first, and potentially to the basement.

A basic in wireless transmission in buildings is: It's not calculatable. It depends on the walls, on furnitures, Cables in the walls and much more factors.
It should work, but there is no warranty.

one major question is it a metal or wood frame building? a 5 story building I'm estimating about 500 feet vertical, since it can do ~2000+ feet straight line (800m) I'd say its good if its a wood frame or not a majority of metal.But like Netzvamp said it's pretty variable and there will likely be dead spots. As far as is it more capable than a wifi router- if you mean range yes but bandwith not so sure

Are there only going to be sensors on the roof and in the first floor or basement? Or are there going to be sensors scattered on various floors? Since Flutter is meant to mesh, you should only have to worry about the farthest distance between two units, not the total max distance between the furthest nodes.

These guys have already answered this, but I will chime in and say they are 100% right, it is not something that can be readily calculated.

I will say that I've gone at least 200m through an apartment complex with good signal. Flutter should work well in a 5 story building of any size, especially with meshing.
